What are you doing to make the Future of Museum Summit accessible?

The Alliance is committed to continually improving the accessibility of our events. To ensure the Future of Museums Summit is as accessible to as many potential participants as possible, we are contracting an accessibility consultant to advise on aspects of the planning and execution of the Summit.

Summit participants can expect the following:

  • Live captioning for all sessions
  • Live ASL interpretation for all keynote sessions. While live ASL interpretation is not currently available for concurrent sessions, additional ASL interpreters are available for individual accommodation requests by registrants.
  • Presenters will receive training to create accessible presentations, including accessible slides, alt text, and image descriptions.

Subsidized Registration Rates

For the Future of Museums Summit to meet its full potential, we need participation from the broadest possible spectrum of people who work in our field. For some, the costs of attending the Summit may put this rewarding experience out of reach, which means a lost opportunity not only for these professionals but for our field as a whole. The more voices we can include, the better our results in tackling the challenges for our field and future.

Subsidized registration rates of $25 are available for up to fifty emerging museum professionals or other museum people for whom financial barriers would otherwise prohibit their participation in the Summit.

Applications for subsidized registrations are now closed. Selected applicants received a promotional code that can be used to receive the subsidized $25 registration rate to attend the Future of Museums Summit (up to $245 value). Notifications are sent within two weeks of application. Subsidized registration is not available to individuals who have already registered.

Applications are welcome from emerging professionals and others for whom financial barriers apply.

The Alliance wishes to express appreciation to Cosm and the National Endowment for the Humanities, whose generosity helps to support this program.
