How do I access the Future of Museums Summit platform?
After registering for the Future of Museums Summit, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to join the virtual platform. Airmeet, the virtual platform being used for the Summit, is best experienced from your desktop computer and on Chrome browser (recommended).
Is subsidized registration available?
We have already received applications for the limited subsidized registrations available for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend the Future of Museums Summit. You can join the waitlist in the event more registrations become available. Learn more.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellation requests received via e-mail (membership@aam-us.org) before October 18, 2024 will receive a refund minus a $25.00 administration fee. Substitutions may be accepted as feasible.
Which AAM members receive the discounted rate?
Individual AAM Professional, Student, and Retired Museum Professional members receive discounts in addition to the Early Bird rate. Check your membership status by logging in to your profile.
When will the full program be available?
Is group registration available?
Group registration is not available for the Future of Museums Summit.
Will the Summit include networking opportunities?
We can’t plan for the future of our field without collaboration! Virtual networking opportunities are a critical component of the Future of Museums Summit and will take place on both days. In addition, the virtual platform allows for direct communication between attendees.
What is included in registration?
Registration includes all sessions, networking opportunities, and access to all session recordings for three months (through the end of January 2025).
Will sessions be recorded?
Yes, all sessions will be recorded and available to registered attendees through the end of January 2025.
How will I access the virtual platform?
Ahead of the Future of Museums Summit, you will receive instructions to the email address you registered with on accessing the virtual platform.
How do I recover my login information to register?
You will register by logging into your AAM account. If you need assistance recovering your login information, you can reset your username or password.
How can I update my registration information or get a copy of my receipt?
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email and receipt for your purchase.
What are you doing to make the Future of Museum Summit accessible?
The Alliance is committed to continually improving the accessibility of our events. Summit participants can expect the following:
- Live captioning for all sessions
- ASL interpretation for all keynote and big idea sessions. While live ASL interpretation is not currently available for concurrent sessions, live captioning will be available for all sessions. Additional ASL interpreters are available for individual accommodation requests by registrants.
- Presenters will receive training to create accessible presentations, including accessible slides, alt text, and image descriptions.
Subsidized Registration Rates
For the Future of Museums Summit to meet its full potential, we need participation from the broadest possible spectrum of people who work in our field. For some, the costs of attending the Summit may put this rewarding experience out of reach, which means a lost opportunity not only for these professionals but for our field as a whole. The more voices we can include, the better our results in tackling the challenges for our field and future.
Subsidized registration rates of $25 are available for up to seventy-five emerging museum professionals or other museum people for whom financial barriers would otherwise prohibit their participation in the Summit. Applications are welcome from emerging professionals and others for whom financial barriers apply.
You can now submit your information to join the waitlist. We have already received applications for the allotted seventy-five subsidized registrations. However, you can join the waitlist in the event more registrations become available. Subsidized registration is not available to individuals who have already registered. Waitlist applicants will be notified if they have been accepted the week of October 21st.
Selected applicants will receive a promotional code that can be used to receive the subsidized $25 registration rate to attend the Future of Museums Summit (up to $245 value). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all registrations have been used. Subsidized registration is not available to individuals who have already registered.
